Paint recycling
in Florida.

Paint drop-off in Miami, Orlando and Tampa. Florida has no paint store take-back program, so your county decides where paint goes.

Check your local rules.

Every Florida county runs a household hazardous waste program. Take oil-based paint, spray paint and thinners there, free for residents in the three counties we cover. Some counties also let you dry small amounts of latex and put it in the trash; others want all paint brought in, so check your county first. Most county sites take household paint only, not paint from businesses or contractors.

No free state program.

Florida doesn’t have a statewide paint program, so it depends on your city or county. Each city guide shows where latex and oil-based paint can go.

Miami ↗

Miami-Dade County runs two free chemical drop-off centers, open Wednesday to Sunday. They take oil-based paint and latex paint that is still liquid. Florida has no paint store take-back program, so these centers and the county's Saturday events are where leftover paint goes.

Spray cans, thinner and other chemicals?

Paint stores won’t take these. Take them to your local household hazardous waste site. Your city guide lists it.
