For liquid, labeled paint in good cans at least three-quarters full, call Heartwood at 3495 Old Highway 99 South. Call before a Monday trip or bringing partly empty cans.
Heartwood takes paint for recycling and reuse, with its own rules: a nearly empty can isn’t treated like a full one. For other chemicals, Douglas County points to a separate hazardous waste option.
Heartwood sets a minimum fullness and refuses rusty or leaking cans. Its rules win, even when PaintCare’s general list allows the paint.
Douglas County sends other hazardous waste to Lane County’s collection center. Call 541-682-4120 about appointments, out-of-county use and your products before the longer trip.
The county list also names Sherwin-Williams on NW Garden Valley Boulevard and Colorcraft on NE Diamond Lake Boulevard. Call first, and check PaintCare’s map that they still take paint.

Read or photograph labels without opening cans. Set aside rusty, leaking or low cans, and anything not house paint, for staff to decide.
Full preparation checklist →Its rules say at least three-quarters full. Ask first, or use another PaintCare drop-off.
Large donation pickups are case by case. Ask about paint; don’t assume it’s covered.
Heartwood’s pages disagree on Monday hours. Ask about its space, low-can exceptions and fees for non-PaintCare products.
