Keep paint in labeled cans for the recycling area. Four five-gallon pails hit the twenty-gallon limit even if mostly empty. Don’t combine leftovers to cut the count. Call before bringing anything rusty, leaking, dried or unlabeled.
Not every painting product is recyclable paint. Book hazardous waste with Lane County at 541-682-4120; 35 gallons max. Use Glenwood’s center lane and stay in your car. Come on your assigned day, not just any time the transfer station is open.
The household appointment doesn’t cover business waste. Ask Lane County whether you need its very small business application or a special-waste application, then get a price and appointment. A list of products, can sizes and labels beats showing up with a mixed truckload.
Take up to 20 gallons of labeled paint, by can size, to Glenwood’s recycling area. For solvents, damaged cans or other chemicals, book a hazardous waste appointment.
At Glenwood, paint recycling and hazardous waste appointments are separate. Pick the right one so you don’t book for nothing or get turned away.
It takes up to 20 gallons by can size, in solid, labeled cans. Solvents and paint it won’t take need a hazardous waste appointment.
As of October, Glenwood is closed Sundays. Sunday hours return April–September. Ignore the old year-round schedule.
Miller on West 11th takes paint only, on the west side, weekdays until 6 pm. For mixed household chemicals, book Glenwood. Call the store about room and your products first.

Read labels before picking a service. At a hazardous waste appointment, follow the center-lane signs and stay in your car while staff unload.
Full preparation checklist →No. Regular paint goes to recycling. Hazardous chemicals need an appointment.
Yes. The 20-gallon limit goes by can size.
Use the day and time you’re given. Paint recycling hours differ from hazardous waste appointments. Business prices depend on what’s approved.
