The ReStore on South 2nd Street, between Golden and Hall, lists latex and oil house paint, primers and finishes. It’s a handy in-town stop when staff have room. It’s open Tuesday–Saturday, so Monday needs another plan.
Keep paint easy to reach so the booth attendant can direct it before you unload anything else. The county’s recycling sheet separates paint from used oil. Paint is free; ask about trash or other fees separately.
The 2026 list ended September 19 at Beaver Hill; no October or November date is listed. Call the hazardous waste number about the next event and business options. House paint can still go to the year-round drop-offs.
Coos County Habitat at 776 S 2nd Street and Beaver Hill at 55722 Highway 101 both take paint. Call with your amount. Chemicals PaintCare doesn’t cover need a separate, approved place.
For regular house paint, compare the downtown Habitat ReStore with Beaver Hill’s traffic booth. Hazardous waste events are separate, and every 2026 date on the county calendar has passed.
At Beaver Hill, paint goes to the traffic booth area. Never pour paint or solvent into the used-oil tank.
Habitat may resell some off-list products, but only after talking with you. Its free large-donation pickup doesn’t promise to take hazardous paint.
The county’s last 2026 Beaver Hill hazardous waste event was September 19. For the next chemical event or business help, call 541-396-7624; a past event isn’t daily drop-off. PaintCare free pickup: View program details ↗ .

Keep labels readable and lids tight. Tell staff separately about spray, boat, road-marking or wood-preservative products. Don’t pour questionable paint into another can.
Full preparation checklist →No. County pages show PaintCare paint drop-off, not daily hazardous waste. Ask about other chemicals.
Not necessarily. Ask the ReStore what it can pick up.
Ask about paint limits and whether out-of-county residents or businesses can drop off. The county labels Beaver Hill both Coos Bay and Coquille; go by the Highway 101 street number.
