Plan two stops. Thompson’s takes paint free at 7450 NE Avery and self-hauled garbage for a fee at 8096 NE Avery. The garbage fee doesn’t cover chemicals, and the station’s longer hours don’t apply to paint.
House paint programs go by product, not just “liquid called paint.” Boat paint, solvents and industrial products need another place; ask staff. Lincoln County’s district knows current services; regional lists don’t mean another county will take your waste.
Drive to Dahl’s Toledo station on West Highway 20, not north to Lincoln City. It takes paint free Monday–Saturday until 4:30 pm. PaintCare lists 5 gallons per visit there, so take extra to Thompson’s Monday.
Agate Beach needs its construction and demolition form and asbestos information before you haul remodel debris. Drop paint at the recycling center first, separately; the transfer station is priced for large loads.
Bring house paint to Thompson’s Recycling Center, 7450 NE Avery Street, Monday–Friday 9 am–4 pm; PaintCare lists 20 gallons per visit. On Saturdays, Dahl’s Toledo Transfer Station on Highway 20 takes latex and oil paint free, 8:30 am–4:30 pm.
Newport’s everyday paint drop-off is Thompson’s recycling center at 7450 NE Avery Street, not the Agate Beach transfer station up the road. It’s weekdays only; on Saturday, drive to Dahl’s Toledo station on Highway 20.
8096 NE Avery is the Agate Beach transfer station for garbage and bulky loads (541-265-5434, Monday–Saturday). Paint goes to 7450 NE Avery. Agate Beach’s Saturday hours don’t apply to paint.
Thompson’s also takes, free, capped motor oil, cooking oil, sorted household batteries and electronics (up to 7 per visit). Solvents and spray cans still go elsewhere.
Dahl Disposal’s Toledo station is open Monday–Saturday and takes latex and oil paint free; arrive 30+ minutes before closing. South-county households can use Dahl’s Waldport center, Tuesday–Saturday.
Lincoln County’s 2026 hazardous waste event was July 25 in Toledo and has passed. Next: Waldport in 2027, Thompson’s in Newport in 2028. Call 541-574-1285 for the flyer.
Habitat for Humanity’s Newport ReStore, 134 E Olive Street, is a PaintCare drop-off that resells paint: Wednesday–Saturday 10 am–6 pm, 5 gallons per visit.
In north county, North Lincoln Sanitary’s Lincoln City sites take house paint, including Saturdays at Schooner Creek. For 100+ gallons, ask PaintCare for free large-volume pickup.

Use original labeled cans with fitted lids, five gallons or less. Cap motor oil separately, sort batteries by type, and ask about thinner and boat paint one by one.
Full preparation checklist →No, weekdays only. Dahl’s Toledo station is the closest Saturday option.
Yes, PaintCare says so, unlike most paint stores.
PaintCare lists 20 gallons per visit at Thompson’s and 5 at Dahl’s Toledo station, by can size.
Summer 2028, at Thompson’s. The 2027 event is in Waldport.
Checked October 6, 2026 against Thompson’s and Dahl’s self-haul pages, the county event schedule and PaintCare’s list. Lincoln City sites moved to other options because Toledo is closer on Saturdays. No business rules beyond PaintCare’s very small business listing, and no 2027 county date, were posted.
