Go to Schooner Creek, which North Lincoln says takes paint, and check for holiday changes. The Highway 101 center has far fewer Saturday hours. Never leave cans at a closed gate; wait until a site opens.
Call and ask about each product. House paint is free; other liquids may cost money and have their own rules, and gasoline goes to only one site. Both sites having the same owner doesn’t make their rules the same.
PaintCare lists the Recycling Center at 5 gallons per visit; Schooner Creek posts no limit. Call 541-994-5555 before loading a truck. Trash solid-dried cans; offer usable full ones to the Habitat ReStore. If the rental is a business, say so; PaintCare limits business paint.
Since July 2026 the staffed center also takes packaging, but those bins aren’t for chemicals. Hand paint to the attendant as before, apart from clean buckets and other packaging.
Mercury thermometers and thermostats go to the Highway 101 Recycling Center. Pesticides and other unlisted chemicals go to the county’s summer event, which moves to Waldport in 2027 and Lincoln City in 2029. Ask the Solid Waste District, 541-574-1285, rather than wait years.
North Lincoln’s Highway 101 Recycling Center (PaintCare lists 5 gallons per visit) and Schooner Creek station both take house paint free. Most Saturdays, use Schooner Creek; the Recycling Center opens only the first Saturday of the month.
Two North Lincoln Sanitary sites in Lincoln City take house paint free: the staffed Recycling Center on Highway 101 and Schooner Creek transfer station east of town. They differ on Saturdays, gasoline and PaintCare’s per-visit limit.
North Lincoln takes house paint free at both sites. Old gasoline goes only to the Recycling Center, at $2 a gallon. Antifreeze and other liquids cost money at both.
North Lincoln says paint or liquids that are dried out, or soaked up in kitty litter, can go in regular garbage. Nearly empty latex cans can skip the paint program.
The Recycling Center is at 1726 SE Highway 101; Schooner Creek at 288 S Anderson Creek Road. Depoe Bay’s 24-hour depot at the city park and boat ramp is unstaffed recycling and takes no paint.
Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln County’s Lincoln City ReStore on NW Highway 101 is a PaintCare drop-off that resells paint: Wednesday–Saturday 10 am–6 pm, 5 gallons per visit.
Lincoln County Solid Waste District rotates one summer hazardous waste event: Toledo 2026, Waldport 2027, Newport 2028, Lincoln City 2029. Call 541-574-1285 to get the flyer by email.
For 100+ gallons of house paint, ask PaintCare for free large-volume pickup. For what North Lincoln won’t take: the 2026 Toledo event has passed, and the 2027 Waldport date wasn’t out as of October 2026.

Keep each liquid in its own labeled, closed container; never mix paint and gasoline. Let small latex leftovers dry for the trash. Call 541-994-5555 with product names, can count and whether it’s business waste.
Full preparation checklist →No, only the first Saturday, 10 am–1 pm. Schooner Creek is open Monday–Saturday 8 am–4 pm.

Checked October 6, 2026 against North Lincoln’s pages, Lincoln County’s event schedule (through 2030) and PaintCare’s list. PaintCare lists the Recycling Center (5 gallons per visit, empty cans taken) and the Habitat ReStore, not Schooner Creek, though North Lincoln names it for paint. The ReStore address is 1221 NW Hwy 101 per PaintCare, 1255 per local news; check first. No Schooner Creek limit or 2027 county date was posted.
