There's no store take-back in Wyoming. Dry latex at home and use your trash cart, or brush very small amounts onto cardboard or newspaper and throw that away once dry. A store-bought paint hardener works too. Give good paint to a neighbor or group. The city's 2026 landfill voucher program ended (it ran May 4–Sept. 19), and the city says to check back in April 2027. Even with a voucher, hazardous waste needed an appointment.

Make a list of what you have before you call. Keep oil-based paint in its original can with the lid sealed. Cover or tie down your load. Plan a weekday morning or afternoon slot, and avoid the noon–1 p.m. break.

October 15, 2026: read the City of Laramie's Household Hazardous Waste, Landfill / Recycling Center, Solid Waste, Holiday Closures, Landfill Fees and Landfill Voucher pages; Wyoming DEQ's nonpoint source page; and PaintCare's non-program listings for Laramie and Cheyenne. The city gives the landfill address as 162 Roger Canyon Rd., 82072; PaintCare uses 82070, so we use the city's. The city lists no quantity limit and doesn't name spray paint or stain; ask when you book. The holiday page doesn't say whether hazardous waste appointments run on the short-hours days (Nov. 11 and Nov. 27). We found no 2026 Albany County cleanup day that takes paint, and no Laramie paint reuse program or ReStore paint policy.
