Longmont lists free HMMF pickup for older adults and people who need help, including people with disabilities. Call 720-564-2251 or email hazmatall@bouldercounty.gov with your address and items. It’s scheduled, not regular trash pickup, so confirm first.
Pull liquid paint and chemicals out first. Longmont’s Recycling Center and Boulder’s HMMF are in different places with different rules, and a recycling account doesn’t cover chemicals. Haul hazardous waste to HMMF during Wednesday–Saturday household hours, within its limits.
HMMF goes by where the waste came from, which matters on the Weld County side or for paint from paid work. It treats covered households, outside visitors and business appointments differently. PaintCare’s home pickup skips Boulder and Weld, so Denver-area offers won’t help.
If you can store chemicals safely, the residents-only event takes paint, oil, pesticides and similar products free at the Waste Services Center on South Martin Street. Bring a current city utility bill and ID. Paint alone is faster at a PaintCare store.
Take household paint to Boulder County’s HMMF (Wednesday–Saturday) or a PaintCare store; the Longmont Recycling Center won’t take it. The city’s next residents-only chemical day is August 21, 2027, at 110 South Martin Street.
Longmont’s Recycling Center on Martin Street won’t take paint. Year-round, use Boulder County’s HMMF or a PaintCare store. The city also holds one residents-only chemical drop-off day a year at the Waste Services Center; next is August 21, 2027.
Martin Street takes no paint, spray cans or solvents. It does take used motor and cooking oil, up to 5 gallons per visit, and scrap metal, with a Longmont trash-and-recycling bill under six months old.
The city describes free hazardous waste pickup for older adults and people with disabilities or no transportation. Call the county at 720-564-2251 to see if you qualify.
Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley’s ReStore, 33 S Pratt Parkway, is on PaintCare’s list for Boulder County households and small businesses: Tuesday–Saturday 10 am–6 pm, 5 gallons per visit.
Longmont’s page says HMMF needs proof of Boulder County residency. PaintCare stores take paint from anyone in Colorado, so Guiry’s on Ken Pratt Boulevard skips that question. East of I-25, PaintCare also lists Sherwin-Williams, 6075 E Firestone Boulevard, Firestone.
The 2026 drop-off day has passed. The next is August 21, 2027, 8 am–noon, at the Waste Services Center, 110 South Martin Street, for Longmont residents with a current utility bill and ID. No business waste. Until then, use HMMF or a PaintCare store.

Keep chemicals out of regular recycling. Bring Boulder County proof of residency for HMMF, or a current Longmont utility bill and ID for drop-off day. Cap used motor oil separately.
Full preparation checklist →No. It refuses spray cans, paint and other chemicals.

Checked October 6, 2026. Longmont’s page (updated October 5, 2026) lists the August 21, 2027 event. Free HMMF use for Weld County addresses is unclear: the county covers all Boulder County town residents, but the city asks for Boulder County proof. The pickup help is from an April 2025 city notice; check it’s still offered.
