Paint recycling
in Wyoming.
Paint disposal in Cheyenne. Wyoming has no free paint recycling program. Cheyenne, Laramie and Campbell County all tell you to dry out latex and put it in the trash, and to take oil-based paint to a local hazardous waste site.
Check your local rules.
Wyoming DEQ tells residents to ask their local government whether there is a household hazardous waste program in their community, and its Solid Waste Program permits local landfills and transfer stations. Cheyenne, Laramie and Campbell County all say to dry latex completely and put it in your household trash; Campbell County’s landfill says it takes no latex. Oil-based paint goes to the local site: free for Laramie County residents at Cheyenne’s Transfer Station (per a 2025 city newsletter), free by appointment at the Laramie landfill for Albany County homes, and free for Campbell County residents at the county landfill on North Landfill Road. Sites serve only their own city or county.
No free state program.
Wyoming doesn’t have a statewide paint program, so it depends on your city or county. Each city guide shows where latex and oil-based paint can go.

Spray cans, thinner and other chemicals?
Paint stores won’t take these. Take them to your local household hazardous waste site. Your city guide lists it.
