From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
Add up label sizes before driving: six five-gallon pails already make thirty gallons, however much is left. Box cans upright; leave out empty cans and used brushes. If paint plus chemicals is over the limit, talk to the county first.
Larimer sends these to its business program, even if it looks like household paint. Call 970-498-5773 for a Wednesday appointment, with labels or safety sheets. Unknown business waste is refused, and unbooked visits can cost extra. Ask about paint charges.
Larimer’s Drop N’ Swap gives away products when it has them; it isn’t a drop-off. GreenSheen’s home pickup doesn’t cover Larimer. For a lot of house paint, ask PaintCare about its separate statewide pickup review. Don’t plan on Denver-area pickup.
Larimer County households can drop off free at the Taft Hill Road hazardous waste site, within limits: 30 gallons per vehicle, by can size. Wednesday is for business appointments.
Larimer County’s Taft Hill site takes paint and household chemicals. With a 30-gallon vehicle limit and no household drop-off Wednesday, sort first.
The county counts container size. A few nearly empty buckets can push you over the household limit fast.
The county’s Drop ’N’ Swap gives away usable donated products when it has them. Stock changes, so check rather than count on it.
PaintCare stores may be easier for small house paint loads. Businesses, landlords and groups should use the county business program, not the free household line.

Keep containers five gallons or less and total their sizes. Decide whether the waste is from your home or a business before picking a service.
Full preparation checklist →No. Wednesday is for business appointments.
No. The county treats businesses and groups separately; call to set it up.
Ask the business program to price your list. We found no free small-load home pickup in Larimer County, and Drop N’ Swap stock varies.
