Set paint aside for a store stop. Recology says Valley View takes no paint and names the two stores. Taking batteries or motor oil doesn’t mean it takes every garage liquid.
Water-based house paint can go to PaintCare. Business oil paint qualifies only from very small businesses. For a big load, request pickup and let PaintCare assess it. Keep paint scraps, solvent and industrial coatings out; they need separate handling.

Miller is closed Sundays. Ashland General Hardware opens Sundays and stays later Saturday, but still call ahead about paint.
Recology says Valley View can’t take most hazardous waste, with a few exceptions. Paint, solvent and specialty coatings need the right store or chemical service.
For chemicals stores won’t take, ask Recology about regional collection events and current options. For 100+ gallons by can size, request free PaintCare pickup at View program details ↗ .

Keep original cans and labels. Separate house paint from thinner, spray paint and industrial products. Call before bringing damaged cans or a business’s oil paint.
Full preparation checklist →No. Recology lists paint as not taken there and sends it to local stores.
No. The city’s flyer bans containers that held hazardous materials. Take paint to a store that takes it.
The local garbage company lists both stores, but neither posts its space. No later 2026 regional hazardous waste event is promised.
