From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
Kitsap counts by container size. Its webpage and flyer disagree at exactly 50 containers, so book. Even a row of nearly empty cans can need an appointment. Don't just count the paint left inside.
Olympic View is open daily 8–5 and takes oil, antifreeze, batteries and CFLs free, but not paint, stain or solvents. Garbage costs at least $42. For latex or oil house paint only, use Habitat on Wheaton Way. With thinner, wait for Imperial Way's Thursday–Saturday hours.
Imperial Way is closed Sunday through Wednesday. Habitat's Wheaton Way store says it takes paint donations Tuesday–Saturday, 9–4. PaintCare says Monday–Saturday, so call before a Monday trip. Spray cans and thinner still have to wait for Imperial Way.
Ask Kitsap for its free site visit for unknown or lab chemicals before you move it. Old containers that are about to break also need an appointment. The regular paint drop-off rules don't cover this.
For paint plus thinner, aerosols or other chemicals, use South Kitsap at 5551 SW Imperial Way, Thursday–Saturday, closed noon–12:30. For paint only, Habitat's Wheaton Way store is a PaintCare site taking up to 20 gallons. Olympic View Transfer Station won't take paint, stain or solvents.
Bremerton has both of Kitsap's paint drop-offs: the county's South Kitsap hazardous waste site on Imperial Way and a PaintCare drop-off at the Habitat store on Wheaton Way. The county transfer station on Barney White Road doesn't take paint.
The Barney White Road transfer station says "no paint, stain, or solvents." It takes motor oil and antifreeze (5 gallons each), batteries and CFLs for free. Save the paint for Imperial Way.
Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County's Wheaton Way store is a PaintCare site. It takes up to 20 gallons a visit from households and very small businesses. Habitat's own hours are Tuesday–Saturday, with donations until 4 p.m.
Imperial Way stops taking waste from noon to 12:30 p.m. It's also closed July 4, Thanksgiving Thursday through Saturday, and December 24 through January 1.
Count your containers and their sizes. You need an appointment for over 50 gallons, more than 50 containers, or any container over 5 gallons. Book if you have exactly 50, because the flyer and webpage disagree.
Imperial Way's free reuse shop gives away usable household products. Businesses use Kitsap's small business program: fill out the online list, staff schedule you within five business days, and collections run twice a month at posted prices per pound.

Use sturdy, lined boxes in the trunk or truck bed. Don't mix products. Call 360-337-5777 about unstable or unlabeled containers before moving them.
Full preparation checklist →Yes. Kitsap takes household waste from residents of both counties. Pierce County residents are asked to use Pierce or Tacoma sites.
Not as of October 6, 2026. The county lists the Arness Creek Road site as coming soon.
The county's small business prices (since June 1, 2022) are $0.65 per pound for paint, oil and latex PaintCare doesn't cover, and $2.00 per pound for aerosols. Ask whether your paint can go to a PaintCare store instead.
No. PaintCare sites don't take aerosols. Imperial Way does.
No. The transfer station doesn't allow paint, stain or solvents.
Checked October 6, 2026 against Kitsap County, Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County and PaintCare pages. Not yet settled: Habitat says Tuesday–Saturday but PaintCare says Monday–Saturday; the flyer and webpage disagree at exactly 50 containers; no North Kitsap opening date. No calls made.
