From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
The county flyer also names Aubuchon at 38 Skyway Shopping Center; call 518-562-1950 for hours and space. PPG, 46 Lafayette Street, is listed too (518-561-5100). Don’t expect either to take thinner or spray paint.
Call the county at 518-563-5514. The August date doesn’t make the transfer station a year-round chemical drop-off. Store products as labeled, and keep liquids out of the landfill’s trash line.
At the 2026 event, qualifying towns, schools and nonprofits could take part; businesses couldn’t. Recheck future rules. For house paint now, follow PaintCare’s business rules.
Sherwin-Williams on Route 3 and Aubuchon at Skyway Shopping Center are on the county paint list. The August 29, 2026 county hazardous waste event is over, so don’t bring chemicals to its Sand Road address.
You needn’t wait for Clinton County’s yearly event; several stores, including the Route 3 Sherwin-Williams, take house paint all year.
The store and county list agree on 488 State Route 3. An older PaintCare report shortens it wrong, so use the current address and phone.
Clinton County’s August 29, 2026 collection at 335 Sand Road has passed. That spot isn’t the landfill at 286 Sand Road.
Paint stores won’t take solvents, spray cans or industrial coatings. Call the county at 518-563-5514 about where those go next.
The county list also has Aubuchon, 38 Skyway Shopping Center (518-562-1950), and PPG, 46 Lafayette Street (518-561-5100). Call either about hours and paint drop-off. If you have a large amount that qualifies, ask PaintCare about a free pickup.

Keep the original label and lid. Count can sizes and call before bringing more than 5 gallons. Tell the store about leaking cans; don’t slip them into the load.
Full preparation checklist →Yes. The county store program takes oil-based house paint and stain, if the store has room and businesses qualify.
The event page is inconsistent about businesses. Get written county approval first. PaintCare’s business rules are separate.
The county clearly lists two stores. Aubuchon’s hours are unconfirmed. No 2026 event remains; the past one is marked over.
