2840 Sisson Street, Baltimore, MD 21211
On regular days the Sisson Street drop-off center says no paint or solvents. A March 2026 task-force vote lets the city sell the site and move these days. Check the DPW page before each trip. No gasoline, kerosene, acids or ammunition.
1910 Russell Street, Baltimore, MD 21230
Only PaintCare's map lists this site, with phone 585-245-4522; the phone above is PaintCare's Maryland hotline. Call before hauling a big load. No spray cans or empty, leaking or unlabeled containers.
2 North Kresson Street, Baltimore, MD 21224
PaintCare marks it as a reuse site. The Loading Dock's own homepage says nothing about paint. No spray cans, solvents, thinners, or unlabeled, leaking or empty cans. Call first to check they have room.
201 West Warren Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030
The only one of the county's three drop-off sites that takes paint. White Marsh and Halethorpe take oil, antifreeze, bulbs and batteries, not paint. A "Baltimore, MD" address can be city or county.
23 paint stores and 0 hazardous waste sites, closest first. Paint stores take house paint, stain and varnish, usually up to a set amount per visit. Hazardous waste sites also take chemicals like thinner, but some only serve local residents. Call before you go.

From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
Too much for a 5- or 10-gallon store visit. PaintCare's map lists Clean Harbors, 1910 Russell Street, for households: up to 200 gallons, Tuesdays, Thursdays and third Saturdays, 9–2. Only PaintCare lists it; call PaintCare first.
Take it all to Sisson Street in one trip on a listed day. PaintCare stores can't take thinner, turpentine or pesticides; the city can. Bring city ID and original labeled containers.
Go to the Central Acceptance Facility, 201 West Warren Road, Cockeysville, Monday–Saturday 7–4, up to 20 gallons of paint. Don't take paint to White Marsh or Halethorpe; they don't take it.
PaintCare lists The Loading Dock on North Kresson Street as a reuse drop-off, open to very small businesses too. Call before bringing more than 5 gallons.
City residents: bring oil paint and thinner to Sisson Street on November 6–7 or December 4–5, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Latex goes to a PaintCare site. Baltimore County residents use Cockeysville, up to 20 gallons a visit.
Baltimore City and Baltimore County have separate programs. City hazardous waste days at Sisson Street take oil paint, not latex. City latex goes to a PaintCare site; one on Russell Street takes up to 200 gallons from households.
Towson, Parkville, Catonsville and Dundalk have "Baltimore, MD" addresses but are in the county. City residents use Sisson Street. County residents use the Central Acceptance Facility in Cockeysville, up to 20 gallons of paint, Monday–Saturday. Neither serves the other.
The city's hazardous waste list names oil paint, thinner, turpentine and stain, not latex. Everyday drop-off centers, Sisson Street included, say no paint. PaintCare has run in Maryland since April 1, 2026, so city latex goes to a PaintCare store, The Loading Dock or Russell Street.
DPW's July 2026 list has Friday–Saturday pairs through December. October 2–3 has passed; November 6–7 and December 4–5 are left. Older pages say "June through December" or "April to October." Go by the dated list.
In March 2026 a task force voted to let the city sell the site if other sites get upgrades, and to move the hazardous waste days. No new site was named when we checked. Look at the DPW page before any 2027 trip.
Canton Ace (1022 Binney Street), Federal Hill Ace (1214 Light Street) and Sherwin-Williams (11 S Central Avenue) take 10 gallons per visit; most other PaintCare stores take 5. With 100+ gallons, ask PaintCare for free pickup. For hazardous waste the city won't take, DPW points to Maryland Recycles' list of private companies; some charge.

Sort cans three ways: oil-based, latex, and solvents or spray cans. Keep labels on; Sisson Street and PaintCare both refuse unlabeled containers. For city days, bring proof of a city address and use a personal vehicle.
Full preparation checklist →No. Drop-off centers say no paint, and the hazardous waste days take oil paint but not latex. Use a PaintCare site.
No. Towson is in Baltimore County, and Sisson Street is for city residents only. Use the county's Cockeysville site (20 gallons of paint per visit) or a PaintCare site.
No. October 2–3 has already passed. The 2026 dates left are November 6–7 and December 4–5, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
No. DPW sends businesses to private companies and turns away commercial vehicles. Many PaintCare sites take business paint, with limits on oil-based products. PaintCare picks up 100+ gallons.
We checked city DPW pages (dates updated July 27, 2026), Baltimore County's drop-off page, the state environment department's (MDE) county table, PaintCare's October 6 map data and Baltimore Brew's task-force report. MDE gives an April–October season; the city guide says June–December. We used DPW's dated list. Only PaintCare's map lists Clean Harbors' schedule and 200-gallon limit; we didn't use its 585 phone number. The Loading Dock's own site doesn't confirm its hours or paint rules. Sisson Street's next location is unknown.
Checked October 6, 2026 against these sources, not by phone. How we research.
