From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
The 2026 city calendar shows those hours are for electronics. Hazardous waste goes only to the October 24, 2026 event. Don’t bring paint on an electronics trip unless the city okays it.
The bulky-pickup form bans liquid paint and construction debris. Use a paint drop-off or the October event. Booking a couch pickup doesn’t let you leave paint beside it.
Check-in uses your first and last name, not a printed ticket. No email? Town Hall can register you. Contact Torrington before the event to sign up and go over your products and amounts.
Register for the October 24, 2026 hazardous-waste collection at 252 Lower Bogue Road in Harwinton, 9–2, the last 2026 date; 2027 dates were not posted as of October 6, 2026. The site’s daily electronics drop-off and the city’s bulky pickup don’t take liquid paint.
Torrington’s fall 2026 household collection is October 24 at the water treatment plant in Harwinton. Register before you gather your cans. The plant is the drop-off; the city office is just a contact.
The drop-off is 252 Lower Bogue Road. Public Works at 140 Main Street is an office. The state says you need a ticket and the host town says register ahead, so use the city’s sign-up first.
The flyer lists paints, stains, varnishes, thinner and stripper but doesn’t split latex from oil or give a limit. Note type, can size and count when you register. “Paint” doesn’t cover industrial coatings or a business’s stock.
The flyer takes many household chemicals but not motor oil, car batteries, tires or electronics. Ask the city where those go and keep them out of this load.
PaintCare’s 2025 report lists Sherwin-Williams, 368 Winsted Road, as a drop-off. The store still lists that address, 860-482-5086, and hours Monday–Friday 7–6, Saturday 8–5, Sunday 10–4. Call to check it still takes paint and its limit; 2025 doesn’t prove room today.
Between events, find a store with PaintCare’s locator. With 100 gallons or more (by can size), PaintCare may pick up free after review, saving store trips. Business waste needs its own check; a contractor can’t use a household registration.

Register through the city event page and keep the instructions. Keep labels showing and products apart. Ask about damaged cans, unusual products and your total before packing. Never leave anything at the plant outside the event.
Full preparation checklist →No. It’s at the water treatment plant on Lower Bogue Road in Harwinton.
No. The current notice lists June 20, 2026 at Falls Village and October 24, 2026 at Lower Bogue Road. Ignore old November dates. 2027 dates were not posted as of October 6, 2026.
No. You check in with your first and last name. Register ahead so staff can match you to your town.
Not always. Call the Winsted Road Sherwin-Williams or another PaintCare store. Thinner and other chemicals still need a hazardous-waste option.
October 6 recheck: the city lists June 20, 2026 (Falls Village Public Works Garage, 100 Railroad Street) and October 24, 2026 (252 Lower Bogue Road, 9–2), with Eventbrite sign-up; the state’s September 30 schedule matches. No 2027 dates. The Winsted Road store was on PaintCare’s 2025 list with current store details, but today’s drop-off and space are unconfirmed. No paint types or limits posted. Electronics hours aren’t hazardous-waste hours.
