Everything you need to get rid of leftover paint responsibly in Kingman.

3670 E. Andy Devine Ave., Kingman, AZ 86401
This is a one-day collection, not a year-round site. The county's 2024 Kingman event used the old Public Works lot at 3675 E. Andy Devine Ave.; the 2026 events use the Motor Vehicle Division lot at 3670. Stericycle collects the waste for the county.
1325 Alonas Way, Bullhead City, AZ 86442
It's a longer drive from Kingman, so use it only if you miss the Kingman day in the same season.
Your state doesn’t have a PaintCare program, so stores here don’t take paint for free. These are the public drop-off programs PaintCare’s map lists, closest first. Most only serve their own residents and some charge a fee. Call before you go.

Take the lids off and let them dry in a shaded, ventilated spot, or stir in a hardener. When the paint is solid, put the cans in your city trash cart.
Don't dry or trash these. Take them to the county collection, set for October 17 in Kingman (October 18 in Bullhead City). If you can't make either, store them safely and watch the county page for the spring dates.
The county collection refuses anything from businesses or institutions, so business paint needs a private hazardous waste company. ADEQ doesn't collect waste itself; it says people without a local program can use stores or specialized companies that take household hazardous waste.
Drive out to the Cerbat Landfill off Mineral Park Road during its hours, and pay by the ton. Keep liquid paint and chemicals out of the load; they belong at the county collection.
Dry leftover latex paint in the can (half full or less, lid off, or with a paint hardener) and put it in your Kingman trash once it's solid, as Mohave County advises. Save oil-based paint, thinner and spray cans for Mohave County's free collection days at 3670 E. Andy Devine Ave.; the fall 2026 one is set for Saturday, October 17, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kingman, Arizona, has no year-round paint drop-off. Mohave County tells residents to dry latex paint in the can and put it in the trash. Liquid oil-based paint, thinner and spray cans wait for the county's free hazardous waste collection, held in spring and fall in Kingman at the Motor Vehicle Division lot on East Andy Devine Avenue.
Mohave County's paint advice: take the lid off, make sure the can is half full or less (pour extra into another container), and let it sit until it's completely solid. A store-bought paint hardener speeds it up. Once solid, it can go in your normal trash. This works for latex, not for liquid oil-based paint or thinner.
The county, Kingman Fire Department and the Kingman Clean City Commission sponsor the events. In 2026 the Kingman days were Sunday, April 19 (past) and Saturday, October 17, set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Motor Vehicle Division, 3670 E. Andy Devine Ave. Bullhead City's matching days were April 18 (past) and October 18, which is set for the same hours. The county hasn't posted 2027 dates.
The City of Kingman picks up trash twice a week and bans hazardous, toxic or flammable materials, including gasoline and other flammable liquids. Extra Trash pickups follow the same rules. The list doesn't mention dried paint, so call Solid Waste at 928-692-3115 if you're unsure. The city's EZ Recycling program ended June 30, 2026, so there is no city recycling cart.
The collection is free to anyone who lives in Mohave County, so Golden Valley, Butler, Valle Vista, Hualapai Mountain, Chloride and Dolan Springs households can use the Kingman day. The county lists no Lake Havasu City event. Lake Havasu City's own page says it dropped its collection day for year-round drop-off options run by its Fire Administration (928-855-1141).
The county's Cerbat Sanitary Landfill is north of Kingman: take U.S. 93 about 12.5 miles from I-40, turn right on Mineral Park Road and go about 4 miles. It's open Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (928-565-2777). Trash is $42.45 a ton, $8 minimum. The county doesn't list it as a paint drop-off.
Arizona has no PaintCare program, so paint stores don't take leftover paint back. ADEQ doesn't collect it. It points people to local programs, and to stores or specialized companies that take household hazardous waste if there's no local program. Businesses can't use the county collection. Give good paint to a neighbor, church or theater group before the desert heat ruins it.

For the trash: dry latex in cans that are half full or less, with the lid off, or mix in a hardener, until it's solid all the way through. For the collection day: keep paint, thinner and spray cans in their original labeled containers with lids tight, and pack them upright in a box. Store them out of the sun until the next event.

Checked October 16, 2026: Mohave County's Household Hazardous Waste Collection page (fall 2026 dates, accepted and refused items, sponsors, dry-it-up method, 928-757-0903), the county's March 20, 2026 notice of the April 18 and 19 events, its 2024 notice (old Kingman location), the county landfill page (Cerbat hours, directions, January 2026 rates), the City of Kingman Solid Waste page (prohibited items, EZ Recycling ended June 30, 2026), Mohave County Stormwater's disposal page, ADEQ's HHW page and PaintCare's locator data (record 17607). The city site blocked automated fetches and was read in the in-app browser. Not settled: any paint limit at the events; whether the Cerbat Landfill takes dried paint cans (its page doesn't say); 2027 dates; a street address for the Cerbat Landfill (the county gives directions only, so it is not listed as a facility). After October 18, 2026, rewrite both fall events in the past tense.
