THE LOCAL ANSWERTake paint to Republic Services’ North Valley drop-off, 333 W Gowan Rd in North Las Vegas (Gate B), during its turn on the rotating calendar: Wednesday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. It’s for Clark County households, up to 15 gallons, with ID matching your address. On other weeks, use the South Valley site in Henderson.
In Las Vegas, Nevada, leftover paint goes to Republic Services’ household hazardous waste drop-off, not your trash cart. Clark County has two sites that take turns, week by week: North Valley on W. Gowan Road in North Las Vegas, and South Valley in Henderson. Nevada has no PaintCare program, so paint stores won’t take it back.
Check whose week it is before you drive
North Valley (333 W Gowan Rd) and South Valley (Cape Horn Drive in Henderson) take turns, one week each, Wednesday to Saturday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Check Republic’s 2026 calendar before you drive. The next North Valley weeks are Oct. 21–24 and Nov. 4–7. Other weeks you’d have to drive to Henderson.
Gate B on Gowan Road
North Valley is Republic’s recycling center at Gowan Road. Enter from Gowan Road through Gate B only. The Cheyenne Transfer Station at 315 W Cheyenne Ave. takes free electronics and appliances, but Republic doesn’t list paint there.
Bring ID that matches your address
It’s for households. PaintCare’s listing says it’s free for Republic customers with an ID matching their home address. A 2024 College of Southern Nevada fact sheet also calls it free. If you rent in an apartment complex, that fact sheet says you still qualify when the complex has residential trash service.
Never rinse brushes in the gutter
The city’s water quality FAQ says cleaning brushes in the street gutter is against Las Vegas Municipal Code Chapter 14.18. Rinse latex brushes in a sink. Clean oil-based brushes in a separate container and take that liquid to the Republic drop-off. Report paint dumped in a street or storm drain to the city at 702-229-6594.
