From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
Central Transfer and Recycling Center takes hazardous waste Sunday, 8–4. West Van takes it Friday–Saturday. A station open for garbage may still have its paint and chemical area closed.
Solvents, cleaners and other hazardous waste count with the paint toward the 25-gallon or 200-pound limit. You sign a form saying the waste isn't from a business. Contractor waste is still business waste, even if a homeowner drives it in.
Keep paint away from any building material that might have asbestos. Clark County sends asbestos to West Vancouver or Central, for a fee and under separate rules. Free paint drop-off doesn't make demolition debris free or pre-approved.
For household paint plus solvents, use West Van or Central during hazardous waste hours. Central is open Sunday; West Van is not. Keep your whole load under 25 gallons or 200 pounds.
Vancouver residents can take household paint to two transfer stations, but only during their hazardous waste hours.
Central takes hazardous waste on Sunday. West Vancouver is Friday and Saturday only. Check the line and hours before you drive.
Paint, thinner and other chemicals all count toward one household limit. Sort and count it all. Each product doesn't get its own 25 gallons.
Clark County sends businesses to PaintCare and private hazardous waste companies. Business waste can't go in the household area.

Tie down and cover the load. Keep paint in its original cans, and expect to leave the cans there.
Full preparation checklist →Yes. Both sites take both kinds.
Only Friday, at both sites. Being open for garbage on other weekdays doesn't mean they take paint.
Ask about can size limits and how busy the line is that day. Rules for Vancouver, British Columbia don't apply.
