Ada’s landfill is open Monday–Saturday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and charges $30 a ton inside city limits and $45 outside, with a $7.50 minimum. The city doesn’t say it takes liquid paint, so call 580-436-1403 first.
Until the next collection day, keep paint sealed and stored safely. Unopened paint can go to a neighbor, church or school group. Oklahoma DEQ lists year-round sites in Oklahoma City, Norman, Midwest City and Tulsa and says they take waste from surrounding communities for a small fee, sometimes by appointment. Their own pages are stricter: Norman takes Norman residents with proof of residency, and Oklahoma City’s list of outside towns doesn’t include Ada. Call any of them first and ask whether Ada counts. No Ada source says whether dried latex can go in the trash.

Keep paint in its original can with a tight lid and a readable label. Don’t mix leftovers. On event day, pack them upright in a box in the trunk or truck bed.

October 16, 2026: searched the City of Ada website (no hazardous waste page; Public Works and Landfill Information pages read; calendar search found no 2026 event). Read The Ada News articles from December 3, 2025 (event Saturday, December 6, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., Agri-Plex Building 3 at 1700 N. Broadway; item list; electronics to 300 East Arlington; Public Works 580-436-8100) and September 21, 2023 (same hours and item list; no date in the text). The March 15, 2025 date comes only from PaintCare. Peer review October 16, 2026: Public Works 580-436-8100 confirmed on the city’s Public Works page; Pontotoc County lists 1710 N. Broadway Ave. for its Emergency Management office but doesn’t tie that number to the Agri-Plex, so the 1700/1710 conflict stays open; Oklahoma City’s page (read in the in-app browser) doesn’t list Ada among outside towns. PaintCare’s listing shows March 15 and December 6, 2025 at 1710 N Broadway, Ada households only, and no empty, dry or leaking cans. Checked Oklahoma DEQ’s fact sheet and the Norman and Oklahoma City pages. Unresolved: the next event date, whether people outside the city limits can come, any gallon limit, whether dried latex may go in city trash (no city source found), and whether OKC, Norman or Midwest City will take paint from Ada for a fee. Update this guide when the city posts a 2026 or 2027 date.
