Goodhue County shares a regional program with Olmsted, Wabasha and Dodge counties, and its page points to the Olmsted County Hazardous Waste Facility in Rochester as a year-round option. PaintCare lists the site for households in Dodge, Goodhue, Olmsted and Wabasha counties, under the address 305 Silver Creek Rd NE. No. Thinner, spray cans and other chemicals are taken only during the season, the first Monday in May through the last Friday in October. In winter, use Olmsted County's facility in Rochester, open Tuesday–Saturday all year. Goodhue County's page points there, and PaintCare lists it for Goodhue County households. Call 507-328-7070 with questions.
No weekend hours are listed. Sherwin-Williams on Main St and Red Wing Ace Hardware take up to 5 gallons during store hours. Call to check whether they're open.
No. The county doesn't take business waste, and PaintCare lists the center for Goodhue County households only. Contractors can use the PaintCare stores, 5 gallons a visit, or PaintCare's pickup for 100 gallons or more.
The county's page lists one summer pop-up each in Kenyon, Wanamingo, Zumbrota, Pine Island, Goodhue and Cannon Falls, all on Tuesday afternoons from May to July. The page doesn't say what year, and every listed date is in May–July, so none is still coming up this fall. Watch the county's page for next year's list.
Checked October 16, 2026 from Goodhue County's hazardous waste, recycling guide and solid waste pages, Olmsted County's facility and mobile collection pages and PaintCare's locator; no calls or visits. The county gives two hour sets: 7 am–3 pm year-round for house paint and 8 am–3 pm May–October for hazardous waste. PaintCare lists only the seasonal hours and a 10-gallon limit; the county lists 20 gallons for liquids. The county's pop-up list gives no year, so the guide doesn't repeat its dates; all were in May–July. Olmsted's own page doesn't name the counties it serves, but Goodhue's page points there and PaintCare lists Goodhue households; the two give different street addresses. We found no city rule on dried latex in trash and didn't check store hours.
