October 16, 2026 review; independent fact-check October 17, 2026. Read: City of Trinidad landfill page; CDPHE's household hazardous waste list (no Las Animas or Huerfano entry; Pueblo's listed for Pueblo residents; Clean Harbors and Veolia under statewide services); Clean Harbors' and Veolia's own pages; Huerfano County's transfer station page; PaintCare's Colorado page and locator data. Veolia was dropped: its own page says its Henderson center is for Adams and neighboring county residents. Clean Harbors' page gives the third-Saturday hours as 9 to 2; CDPHE says 9 to 3. Las Animas County's website has no solid waste page we could find. The city's tipping fee link returned a 404, and its 2026 dump calendar is a color-coded grid we couldn't read as text. BLDRS and the Walsenburg paint details rest only on PaintCare. Open: Walsenburg's paint hours outside November to April; the right phone number for Walsenburg; whether the landfill takes fully dried latex (its page bans liquid paint only). No site was phoned or visited.
