The city's trash rules say no paint
Marysville's refuse guidelines say Republic won't take hazardous materials such as paint, and they list paint and aerosol cans as not recyclable. The city FAQ says paint won't be picked up with bulk items either. NCO says latex dried solid can go in household trash. Before you put a dried can in your green toter, ask Public Service at 937-645-7350, option 2.
Don't leave paint at the 24-hour drop-off
Union Recyclers' recycling drop-off is open around the clock, but only for paper, cardboard, cans, glass and #1-#2 plastic. Cameras watch it, and NCO says people who leave other items there may be prosecuted for illegal dumping.
Why not SWACO in Columbus?
SWACO's free hazardous waste program is for Franklin County residents. It also doesn't take latex for free; it sends latex to EEI for about $1 a gallon. Union County households use NCO's Marysville appointments instead.
Same site for Richwood, Plain City and Milford Center
The Union Recyclers appointments cover Union County. NCO's recycling drives in Milford Center, Unionville Center, Plain City (Jerome Township), Raymond, York Center, Magnetic Springs and Allen Township are for recycling only, not paint. Bring paint to the Union Recyclers appointments instead.
