Keep the free PaintCare paint apart. Before paying Hazman’s prices, try to book an Erie voucher for up to 50 pounds of household hazardous waste. Ask how your load is counted; the voucher won’t make everything free.
Erie County lists November 7, 2026 in Hamburg, with sign-up in October. The page has no address or time yet; get them at sign-up or 716-858-6800. It takes household paint, spray paint and solvents, but not business or farm waste.
Hazman serves small businesses making under 220 pounds a month, apart from the household voucher. Ask for a quote on solvents or industrial coatings. Free PaintCare house paint is handled separately.
Hazman in Tonawanda takes latex and oil-based paint free through PaintCare. Paint plus other chemicals may fit Erie County’s 50-pound voucher, which needs an appointment. Other items and extra weight can cost more.
In Buffalo, free paint recycling and a chemical cleanout are separate. Hazman in Tonawanda does both; the county discount needs a reservation.

For a few small, labeled cans, check the PaintCare locator against the Tonawanda trip. Hazman also does pickups for a quoted price. Before paying a hauler for 100+ gallons, see whether PaintCare’s free pickup covers it.

Keep paint apart from chemicals you’ll pay for, and tell staff if you have a voucher. Bring a card; Hazman no longer takes cash or checks.
Full preparation checklist →Yes, for a normal Hazman drop-off. Only the free county voucher needs an appointment.
Ask Hazman whether you qualify and about PaintCare’s business oil-paint rules. The household voucher can’t pay for business waste.
The November county event lacks full details. Hazman’s paint-only limit and chemical prices need confirming.
