685 E Ventura Boulevard, Oxnard, CA 93036

The city says residents can use the regular drop-off free; Gold Coast limits it to residential Harrison customers. Bring labeled cans, and check first if your address or account is unusual. Gold Coast closes at 5 p.m. Saturday, despite a later time on a city summary.
Reserve the monthly event and list everything. Oil-based house paint alone can also go to the Oxnard PaintCare store, but spray cans and thinner can't. Sort first, then decide on one trip or two.
Use Ventura's business sign-up, not a resident slot. Businesses must re-register under the system started after July 2025. Call 805-652-4525 about qualifying, your list and prices before booking a hauler.
Rain can cancel the event. For paint only, try the Oxnard store or the regular latex drop-off. Store other chemicals safely until the next event; missing it doesn't change what the drop-off takes.
Up to 10 gallons of labeled latex paint can go to Gold Coast's regular drop-off if you qualify. Oil paint, spray paint and solvents need the city's event, held the third Saturday monthly except December, by reservation. When we checked, the October 17, 2026 form was open, and no November form was posted as of October 6, 2026.
Ventura has two programs at 5275 Colt Street: a latex-only drop-off and a monthly reserved event for other household chemicals.
The sign-up page lists October 17, and sign-up closes the Thursday before, October 15. Come at your assigned time; 2 p.m. isn't a last-minute slot. No December event.
One city brochure says the drop-off takes more paint types and more of it. Gold Coast and the city's main page say 10 gallons of latex only. Follow that for regular drop-off, and book the event for everything else.
The city gives away usable materials from the event when stock and staff allow. PaintCare may pick up a 100-gallon paint supply. If you live outside the City of Ventura, use your own area's program.

Follow the Sperry Avenue event signs, bring your reservation and stay within 15 gallons or 125 pounds. Stay in your car, engine off, while staff unload. Ask about damaged or oversized containers first, and never mix unknown chemicals.
Full preparation checklist →No. Regular drop-off is latex only. The same address hosts a separate reserved event, and PaintCare has other options for oil-based house paint.
No. Book a time and keep it. Residents arriving after 2 p.m. are turned away because packing starts, and before 9 a.m. you wait for businesses.
No. Plan for November, or use another option in this guide.
On October 6 the city's pages blocked us, so we rechecked through its live sign-up form (October 17, 2026; residents only; businesses 8–9 a.m.; 2 p.m. cutoff; 15 gallons/125 pounds) and a saved city page (third Saturday, no December). No November form yet. From October 4: city PDF /38234 says 15 gallons of paint, but the current city page and Gold Coast say 10 gallons of latex only. We use Gold Coast's Saturday hours. Store capacity and business fees are unconfirmed.
