1800 E Harding Ave, Pine Bluff, AR 71601
It sits directly behind Pope Furniture. Because the county page doesn’t mention paint and three sets of hours are in print, call 870-850-0235 and ask whether it still takes paint before you load the car. The county’s self-service drop-off at the Road Department, 3304 W. 7th Ave., is for recycling; its page doesn’t list paint. PaintCare runs no program in Arkansas; its online locator still lists some Arkansas household hazardous waste sites for information, and those listings come from the local program, not from PaintCare.
Your state doesn’t have a PaintCare program, so stores here don’t take paint for free. These are the public drop-off programs PaintCare’s map lists, closest first. Most only serve their own residents and some charge a fee. Call before you go.

From PaintCare’s drop-off map ↗, updated October 6, 2026. Hours and limits are PaintCare’s. Distances are straight-line, not driving.
If the house is in Jefferson County, call the Harding Avenue center first to ask whether it takes paint. If it does, bring proof of the address, keep cans labeled and leave out any that are empty, dried or leaking.
Call 870-850-0235 and ask whether the center takes latex and stain; no source says which kinds of paint it takes today. Don’t set either at the curb, because CARDS lists paint, stains and varnishes as not accepted.
The sources disagree on Saturdays: the county page box says the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, 8 a.m.–noon, and ADEQ says the first Saturday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Call 870-850-0235 the week before.
PaintCare’s locator lists the center for households only, no businesses. A business needs a private hazardous waste company.
Call the Jefferson County Recycling Center at 870-850-0235 to ask whether it still takes paint, which kinds, and when. If it does, take it to 1800 E. Harding Ave., directly behind Pope Furniture, with proof that you live in Jefferson County. Don’t put paint in your trash cart: Pine Bluff’s hauler, CARDS, lists paint, stains and varnishes as items it won’t take.
In Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the only public place we found that may take paint is the Jefferson County Recycling Center at 1800 E. Harding Ave., behind Pope Furniture. Arkansas DEQ lists it as the county’s household hazardous waste center, but the county’s own page doesn’t mention paint and gives different hours. Call 870-850-0235 to ask whether it still takes paint before you go.
The county’s page never mentions paint, so ask whether paint is still taken. It also lists hours two ways: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 1–4 p.m. in the text, and weekdays 8 a.m.–4 p.m. plus the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in a box on the same page. Arkansas DEQ and PaintCare’s locator say weekdays 7:30 a.m.–3 p.m. and the first Saturday. One phone call settles it.
PaintCare’s locator lists the center for Jefferson County households only and asks for proof of residency. Bring something that shows your Jefferson County address.
CARDS took over Pine Bluff trash on November 1, 2025; its Pine Bluff web page now carries the Ecowaste Solutions name. Its town hall fact sheet lists paint, stains and varnishes among items it does not accept. It also won’t take household chemicals or flammable materials.
Jefferson County also has a self-service recycling drop-off at the Road Department, 3304 W. 7th Ave. Its page lists paper, plastic, cans and electronics, not paint.
Arkansas has no PaintCare program, so stores in Pine Bluff don’t take paint back. PaintCare’s locator lists the Harding Avenue center only for information. Little Rock has no public paint drop-off; Pulaski County’s Green Stations refuse paint and the city says to dry it for the trash. Pine Bluff at least has a state-listed county center that may take it. The Jefferson County Recycling Department also handles tires for the ten-county Southeast Arkansas Solid Waste Management District and electronics for Arkansas, Cleveland, Grant and Lincoln counties. We found no source saying it takes paint from those counties, and Arkansas DEQ’s list shows no hazardous waste center in them.

Call 870-850-0235 to confirm that paint is taken, which kinds, and the hours. Keep paint in its original, labeled can with the lid on tight; PaintCare’s locator says the center won’t take empty, dried-out or leaking cans. Bring proof you live in Jefferson County. Keep cans upright in a box in your trunk.
Full preparation checklist →The only public option we found is the Jefferson County Recycling Center, 1800 E. Harding Ave., behind Pope Furniture. Arkansas DEQ lists it as the county’s household hazardous waste center, but the county’s own page doesn’t mention paint. Call 870-850-0235 to ask whether it still takes paint.
It depends on the source: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1–4 p.m. (county page text); weekdays 8–4 plus the 2nd and 4th Saturdays (county page box); or weekdays 7:30–3 plus the first Saturday (Arkansas DEQ and PaintCare’s locator). Call to confirm.
CARDS, the city’s hauler since November 2025, lists paint, stains and varnishes among the items it won’t accept. Ask CARDS at 870-399-7463 before putting out any paint, even dried.
PaintCare’s locator says Jefferson County households only, with proof of residency, and no businesses. The county’s page doesn’t say, so ask when you call.
Checked October 16, 2026: Jefferson County’s Recycling Department page (read in a browser), the City of Pine Bluff’s CARDS page and its September 22, 2025 town hall fact sheet, the Ecowaste Solutions (formerly CARDS) Pine Bluff page, Arkansas DEQ’s center list and PaintCare’s locator data. The county page never mentions paint or hazardous waste and lists two different hour sets; ADEQ and PaintCare list a third. A 2012 Pine Bluff Commercial article described a household hazardous waste center at 16th Avenue and Pennsylvania Street; we found no current source for it and left it out. We found no Habitat ReStore in Pine Bluff and no Jefferson County collection event. Peer review (October 16, 2026) removed wording that implied the center takes latex and now tells readers to call to confirm paint is taken at all. PaintCare’s Arkansas listings are information only; Arkansas has no PaintCare program. Unresolved: whether the Harding Avenue center still takes paint, its current hours, any fees, and whether CARDS takes fully dried latex.
